Marine police dispatched a patrol boat to intercept the Masaya Nava 15 fishing boat at 3pm on Friday after being alerted to the incident by the Port-in-Port-out Centre in Chumphon. Worker Chamnarn Boonkong, 53, told police that a Myanmar worker had walked into the skipper’s room and stabbed him at about 2.20pm. Chamnarn saw the incident and shouted to other crew to capture the worker. The suspect was identified as Nyi Myint Lwin, 30. The skipper, Sit Hensuk, 59, was stabbed once in his back.
