A Myanmar minister complained of non-cooperation on part of the Bangladesh government in resolving the Rohingya issue at the ‘Future of Asia Conference’ in Japan in May. On Wednesday, Momen invited foreign diplomats in Bangladesh and briefed them on the country’s position on the Rohingya issue. The foreign minister slammed Myanmar for spreading ‘blatant lies’ and failing to ‘keeps its promise’. “Bangladesh urged the international community to continue exerting pressure on Myanmar to resolve the Rohingya issue,” Sudipto Mukerjee, resident representative of UNDP in Bangladesh, told the media.
