KUALA LUMPUR: Humanitarian Care Malaysia (MyCARE) is targeting to collect RM350,000 for its Rohingya Emergency Fund to assist Rohingya refugees at Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh. Its chairman Assoc Prof Dr Hafidzi Mohd Noor said humanitarian assistance was needed for the increasing number of Rohingya refugees in the area. He said so far, the fund had succeeded in garnering RM150,000 with three voluntary organisations in including a MyCARE team in Bangladesh. “MyCARE is also collecting necessities for the coming monsoon season if floods occur in the country,” he told a media conference after launching MyCARE Humanitarian Mission to Cox’s Bazar 2 which would be leaving for Bangladesh next month. According to him, MyCARE delivered RM80,000 in its first mission to Cox’s Bazar in April.
