A police officer shocked the vetting panel in Kisumu when he said that one of his wives had refused to surrender her bank statements . Earlier in May, the panel was in Mombasa vetting traffic officers. The vetting panel is assessing officers based on entry and training requirements, their professional conduct and discipline, integrity, financial probity, and respect for human rights. On Thursday, the National Police Service Commission sacked 302 traffic officer for refusing to appear before the vetting board. The Act stipulates that "members of the National Police Service shall undergo vetting to assess their suitability and competence".
