Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya says he has no opponent because those who want to challenge him are like “retarded children”. Oparanya spoke during the burial of his cousin Samuel Atama in Mabole village, Butere constituency, on Saturday. He said he has forgiven Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali for confronting him with ODM leader Raila Odinga on November 25 in Mumias town. Oparanya supported the new law barring harambees, saying most fundraisers are part of wider corruption networks. Oparanya said Mumias Sugar was run down under Washiali’s watch as Mumias MP.
