Now, more than 18 months after Kyle's death, she has come forward to tell her story - one scarred by tragedy and trauma. Heartbreakingly, the mum says she regrets reporting her rape - despite Shirley being locked up for life - following Kyle's death. But she says Kyle's death was linked to another event in her life, something equally traumatic that happened nearly 10 years earlier. The incident, captured on CCTV, was played to a jury with Kyle's family watching on from the public gallery. Kyle's mum Helen says her son never recovered from her being raped and suffered with problems since that fatal night.
