'Course we can babes', I answered but then I just couldn’t stop the tears. It’s never really happened before when I’ve been in Ivy’s company and I genuinely couldn’t stop crying. I couldn’t pull away from her hug, needed her little arms to stay around my neck forever and ever. Then I told her I was crying happy tears because she was the sweetest little girl in the world. But you get better at dealing with it and at telling the little devil on your shoulder to bugger off.
