I had my first family holiday there and I’ve been going back ever since. When I was a small child, we stayed in Looe, just a few steps from the beach. My mum and nan would drive my sister and me down in convoy with my uncle. We’d arrive in the evening, run straight down to the water and get our bare feet into the waves. When I’d just finished my A-levels, I spent the summer there and hooked up with a hippie theatre group.
