We would experience summer camp as a family. But during that summer road trip, Rambo made menacing cameos as our Dodge Caravan rumbled across highways in search of the next pit stop or campground. My poor dad, like the rest of us, was a newbie to the great outdoors. But as that road trip continued, we started to get the hang of it. The great outdoors forced our brains to think laterally, be resourceful, improvise, to see the beauty in the smaller things.
