The writer, actor and director is currently birthing one of his biggest projects to date, a much anticipated play called Astroman at the Auckland Theatre Company. My work in theatre is all or nothing. Only now I'm working consistently but for 18 years before this I wasn't working consistently. For a long time I wanted to push the idea of Maori living in a neutral space in theatre. I need sound around me when I'm working so it actually works on a Sunday because the kids are occupied.
