According to Nettey, his mum preferred him going to school and getting a career than choosing football. “When I started playing it was quite difficult because there were up and downs… Initially, my mum wasn’t happy I chose this path. She actually wanted me to go to school and be somebody,” Nettey told Asaase Radio. From there my mum started to support me by doing whatever I wanted, to help my career. “I was very happy, I was so proud that my mum is very proud and happy of what I’m doing now.
