I feel like I had two separate, two-year jobs in that company, even though my role didn't change while I worked there. He had no idea what his job was about but for some reason the higher-up managers didn't notice or didn't care. His message went on to say that he wants to use me as a reference. I guess he's applying for a job that requires references from past bosses, past peers and past subordinates. George wants me to be one of his two past-subordinate reference-givers.
