Rescue teams at the bomb blast site comprised of soldiers, police, medical staff and ordinary volunteers. Standing outside the ruins of the US Embassy building, my mind went to Kinyua and another close friend, Carol Wandeto. The aftermath of the August 7, 1998, bomb blast in Nairobi. Nonetheless, the following day, rescuers drilled a hole where Rose was thought to be.
