Investigation is underway to identify the assailants,” said Meerut senior superintendent of police Akhilesh Kumar. Mr. Som had received similar threats two years ago, while unidentified assailants fired at Mr. Som’s house residence a several years ago. Police sources said Mr. Som had allegedly received a threatening telephone call from the Islamic State in December 2015 and 2017.
