Photo: Pradeep Gaur/MintNew Delhi: The mutual fund (MF) industry’s asset base rose 6.5% to an all-time high of Rs.14.41 trillion in the April-June quarter helped by strong participation from retail investors and robust inflow in equity schemes. “Markets being choppy, retail investors identified mutual funds as a preferred vehicle for investing in market-linked securities. Growing participation from retail investors and huge inflows in equity schemes led to an increase in the industry’s assets base, market experts said. The industry, comprising 42 active players, witnessed increase in average assets under management (AUM) to Rs.14.41 trillion in the three months ended 30 June, from Rs.13.53 trillion during the January-March quarter, data available with industry body Association of Mutual Fund Industry (Amfi) showed.
