Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has announced a 50 per cent waiver on transport tax rates and waved land rates and penalties for 45 days. Additionally, boda boda riders will not be paying taxes or fees for the entire year. "For mama mbogas will no longer be paying any taxes during market days we have lifted that completely. To our boda boda operators they will not pay anything this year, so let let them save that money and cater for their families," he noted. He said the above economic measures have been taken to cushion residents from the Covid-19 crisis.
