Mustafa Ururyar was granted bail on Thursday morning, a day after he was sentenced to 18 months in jail for sexual assault on a fellow York University PhD student. The Crown said the conditions are the same as his previous bail before sentencing. The decision was made given his behaviour on bail and the previous decision allowing him bail, the Crown said. Ontario Court Justice Marvin Zuker sentenced Ururyar, 29, on Wednesday to 18 months in custody, followed by three years probation for sexual assault on Mandi Gray, 28. Ururyar was also ordered to pay Gray $8,000 in restitution for her legal bills.
