Politics of Sunday, 11 September 2016Source: classfmonline.comMuslim youth should desist from election violence - CPPProf Edmund Nminyem Delle, CPP National ChairmanIn commemorating Eid al-Adha with Muslims across the country, the Convention People’s Party (CPP) is praying for a peaceful election as it cautions Muslim youth to avoid being used by politicians to cause any turmoil. “As a religion of peace, we also would like to urge Muslim youth to shun any politician who would attempt to use them to achieve their ends or to cause mayhem during this year’s December elections,” Prof Edmund Nminyem Delle, the CPP National Chairman and leader noted in a statement. It is, therefore, “the hope of the CPP that the feast will inspire us to work to maintain the peace in the country”. Ghana will be heading to the polls on December 7 to elect a president and parliamentarians to manage the affairs of the country for the next four years. The CPP also believes this year is the time for them to return to power after the party was overthrown in 1966 and has not gone anywhere near the presidency since then.
