Renowned music maestro Ustad Rashid Khan, who was undergoing treatment for prostate cancer at a Kolkata hospital, passed away on Wednesday. He passed away at around 3:45 PM,” said an official of the private hospital where Ustad was admitted. Speaking about the passing of Rashid Khan, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her deep sorrow, stating, “This is a significant loss for the entire nation and the entire music community. Initially receiving treatment at Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital, the 55-year-old artist from the Rampur-Sahaswan Gharana later chose to continue his treatment exclusively in Kolkata. Sources indicate that Khan initially showed positive responses to the treatment.
