President Museveni will take part in efforts to mediate the conflict in Ethiopia which has claimed thousands of lives and sparked a humanitarian crisis in Tigray – the northern part of the country. Museveni was close to the past TPLF leaders and even advocated for the construction of a road linking Uganda to Ethiopia via northern western Kenya. Meanwhile, President Biden’s Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Ambassador Mike Hammer, will travel to Ethiopia starting this weekend to engage on the crisis in northern Ethiopia.
