Musa Aman to be tried in June next year - Nation

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Sabah chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman has maintained his innocence over 35 counts of graft involving US$63mil (RM243mil) and 16 counts of money laundering involving US$37.8mil (RM158mil) and US$2.5mil (RM10.5mil). The prosecution also requested for both cases (money laundering and corruption) to be jointly tried as it involved the same transactions. Lawyer Francis Ng, who represented Musa, did not object. On Nov 5 last year, Musa was slapped with 35 counts of corruption involving US$63mil in Hong Kong and Singapore as an inducement for offering timber concessions in Sabah between Dec 20, 2004 and Nov 6, 2008. In March, Musa was slapped with 16 additional charges of money laundering involving US$37.8mil and US$2.5mil allegedly committed more than 10 years ago.
