KOTA KINABALU: Drastic action, including replacing top executives of problematic government-linked companies (GLCs), has paid off and these firms are now profitable, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman (pic) said. He said the state has had to remove the chairmen, boards of directors, and chief executives of some GLCs in order to get them up and running again. It’s a matter of putting the right person in the right job,” said Musa, who is also state Finance Minister. Responding to Limus’ original question, Assistant Minister of Finance Datuk Ramlee Marhaban said 15 state firms had paid dividends totalling RM286mil to the state government in 2016. The firms include Warisan Harta Sabah Sdn Bhd, Sabah Development Bank Bhd, Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn Bhd and Sabah Credit Corporation.
