The SNP's chief executive will not be involved in key decision-making in the party's general election campaign, it has emerged. Murray Foote was handed the £95,000-a-year role after Peter Murrell stood down. But just months later, he took over the top job after Mr Murrell quit in relation to the same scandal. Mr Foote is a controversial figure among nationalists. Mr Foote took over from Mr Murrell, who is married to Nicola Sturgeon and was arrested last year in relation to Operation Branchform, in August last year.
