With the China Open to add to his Wimbledon and Olympic triumphs, Andy Murray has not only amassed his most impressive collection of titles in 2016 but also his most numerous for five years. However Murray’s march to a fifth title of the year in Beijing, accomplished without even dropping a set, still came as something of a surprise. After pushing himself to the physical limits of exhaustion three weeks ago in the Davis Cup defeat against Argentina, he would have been content with a couple of good performances to set him up for next week’s Shanghai Rolex Masters.
