(Bhola Prasad)Jamshedpur, Oct. 22: Governor Droupadi Murmu today said a tribal university was the need of the hour for developing tribal languages and scripts in Jharkhand. "I think setting up a tribal varsity would help promote tribal languages. Addressing around 600 tribal scholars who have assembled at the two-day conference, Murmu said she had already taken an initiative in this direction. "Earlier this month, I wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, highlighting the need for a tribal varsity in the state. As many as nine tribal languages and dialects are popular in the state namely Santhali, Oraon, Kharia, Ho, Mundari, Kurukh, Panchapargania, Nagpuri and Kurmali.
