Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Al Mamun announced the verdict on Sunday in the well-known case that involves the killings of Oishee’s father Mahfuzur Rahman, a police inspector, and mother Swapna Rahman. Shumi, 16, was overjoyed to hear the verdict. “I did not help her. I was not at fault.”The High Court commuted the death sentence awarded by a trial court to Oishee to life in prison last year after a petition challenging the verdict. The underage house help was tried by a juvenile court.
