A murder suspect who has been on the run has been arrested by detectives from the directorate of criminal investigations. According to the detectives, Githaiga has been on the run after he murdered Mercy Njeri Mbatia on October 13. Using a sword, the suspect is said to have slit the throat of the 23-year old who was his wife. Earlier in the week, another murder suspect who set ablaze his wife following a domestic confrontation was arrested in Kericho as he tried to flee. Robert Kipkorir Tanui was arrested on Monday night by DCI detectives based in Kericho as he tried to board a matatu to an unknown destination.
