The arrested Kamal Hossain, 28, had been on the run until police managed to nab him from Bholab area of Rupganj upazila. Confirming, Rupganj police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahmudul Hasan said the girl's mother Khadija Begum filed a case soon after the incident that occurred earlier on Saturday. The 26-day-old Meem, died on the spot when Kamal snatched her from her mother's grasp and slammed her on the ground, according to Khadija. Police on Saturday sent the body of the child to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for an autopsy, OC Mahmudul said.
