The body of a two-year old child was discovered on the mud flats behind Tio Place in Little Waihi in March. A 37-year-old man has been charged with murder following a homicide investigation into the death of a Maketū toddler in March. Two-year-old Nevaeh Jahkaya Whatukura was found dead on the tidal flats of Little Waihī in March. The man is due to appear in Tauranga District Court on Friday. "This was a tragic incident and we would like to thank members of the public for their assistance and cooperation during the course of this investigation," Detective Sergeant Louise Curragh said in a statement.
