Tenants in Germany have to pay on average €7.04 per square metre. Munich is ranked sixth and tenants pay an average of €9.74 per square metre for net cold rent, according to the study. According to F+B, tenants with old leases in Berlin have a much better deal compared to newcomers. Overall, the top 10 most expensive cities for tenants are located in southern Germany, the most prosperous part of the country.
