Mumbai: Two firemen injured after manufacturing unit catches fire in Marol


At least two firemen were injured in firefighting operations at a closed manufacturing unit in Mumbai’s Marol area late Sunday. According to reports, the fire started at 1 am in a ground-plus-one storey manufacturing unit where electrical wiring, moulding machines, boilers and other plastic material were stored. Two firemen sustained minor burn injuries and have been admitted to Cooper Hospital in Juhu. Mumbai has witnessed several fire incidents since December 29, when a Level 4 fire caused by charcoal in a hookah killed 14 people attending a birthday party at 1Above, a club in Kamala Mills Lower Parel. Following this, incidents in Marol, Lower Parel, Kanjurmarg and South Mumbai, and neighbouring have been reported with an additional count of five fatalities.
