The Indian Navy for the construction of a marina facility for yachts in South Mumbai off the Princess Dock near MazgaonThe Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) has initiated the process to obtain approvals from the Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF) and the Indian Navy for the construction of a marina facility for yachts in South Mumbai off the Princess Dock near Mazgaon. The MbPT intends to develop a marina facility spread over 14 hectares of land at Princess Dock as a part of its of Eastern WaterFront plan to boost tourism. The marina facility in particular is being developed as many yachts visit or base themselves in the city, and they currently anchor off from the Gateway of India. It will also have a sheltered boat storage, boat launch facility, boat fuelling dock, fuel tank storage Water treatment and management plant and entry/ exit walkway towards marina. The MbPT official, added, "There is an acute need for a marina in Mumbai.
