Marine Conservation: Mumbai embarks on a groundbreaking endeavor as it installs 210 artificial reefs in the Arabian Sea near Worli Koliwada, marking a significant milestone in marine conservation. Funded by the RPG Foundation and implemented at a cost of Rs 62 lakh, these reefs, crafted from recycled cement and steel, promise to revitalize the coastal ecosystem. Designed to serve as both habitat for marine life and carbon sinks, the reefs hold the potential to bolster fishing opportunities for local communities while promoting environmental sustainability. Spearheaded by local fishermen and supported by marine conservation NGO Kuddle Life Foundation, this initiative symbolizes a collaborative effort towards a brighter future for Mumbai's coastal areas.
