Eight Humboldt penguins were brought to Mumbai in July this year. Barely three months after eight Humboldt penguins were brought to Mumbai's Byculla zoo, a female penguin among them has died. The eight Humboldt penguins (three male, five female) were brought to the Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Zoo on July 26 from Seoul, South Korea. On 18 October, the female penguin reportedly showed symptoms of dullness, inappetance, greenish stools and laboured breathing. Meanwhile, the seven other Humboldt penguins are healthy and under observation.
