Four men chatting on the roadside were killed after a truck carrying groceries tilted to one side, smashing the load on them in Vikhroli West on Thursday. The freak mishap occurred when the truck was reversing on a road under repair. The Park Site police said a culvert of a stormwater drain gave in under the weight of the truck, which tilted and got stuck. Families of the deceased said Hebare had asked the driver, Devendra Jadhav, not to reverse the vehicle, but he ignored his advice. The police have booked the driver for rash driving and causing death due to negligence and have booked the road contractor.
