A large vegetation fire that broke out at Mount Wellington in Auckland has been brought under control after a major response from Fire and Emergency. According to a report by Stuff, seven fire crews and 28 firefighters were sent to the scene after emergency services were notified of the blaze shortly after 4.10 pm on Sunday. Crews from Mount Wellington, Remuera, Saint Heliers and Otahuhu were among those attending. A Fire and Emergency spokesperson confirmed the significant response but said the exact location within Mount Wellington was not immediately clear, Stuff has reported. “They’ve done a great job getting on top of it,” as quoted by Stuff.
