Wildfire Service were called in to help bring a quickly growing brush fire under control in Comox. Early Saturday afternoon, the fire was spreading quickly, but it was contained by 4 p.m., according to Capt. Terry Dean of Comox Fire Rescue. High winds whipping up flames/smoke. @CHEK_News #bcwildfires pic.twitter.com/PM9WDLRIMn — @deanstoltzchekCrews from Campbell River, Oyster River and Cumberland assisted the local fire department, along with three crew members, an officer and two helicopters from the provincial wildfire service.
