Jessica Bray (left) before the treatment and (right) how her hair looks more than a year later. "I'm used to having longish hair and I had freak show hair, I have been laughed at on the street," she said. Despite finding that Saint James Hair Studio had breached consumer laws, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal rejected most of Bray's financial claim. Instead, she was awarded a refund of A$270 for the hair treatment and A$114 compensation for a session with a psychologist. Saint James Hair Studio owner James Yong said the matter had been resolved in VCAT and that they would stick to the decision.
