PUTRAJAYA: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s supreme council never endorsed Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as the party’s choice to be prime minister, claims its deputy president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir (pic). “Firstly, the candidate for prime minister from Bersatu is none other than Dr Mahathir. “Secondly, the supreme council had unanimously decided that Dr Mahathir must retract his decision to step down as party chairman, ” Mukhriz told reporters after a Bersatu closed-door meeting yesterday. Dr Mahathir was heard detailing some of the events that had transpired over the past week. Among others, he apparently said that the political crisis was sparked when Muhyiddin took Bersatu out of Pakatan Harapan.
