The arrestees were identified as Sheikh Reaz Ahmmed, 40, Shahjahan, 45, and Batul Barua, 38, said Kotwali police station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Mohsin. Mohsin said: "On March 2, the trio demanded Tk20,000 from architect Pranata Mitra as expenses to celebrate 'Mujib Borsho'. "Later on March 6, when they went to the architect’s office at Nandan Kanan area in the city and demanded the money, Pranata informed the police. He also said a case was filed with the Kotwali police station charging the trio with extortion on Friday, and they have been produced before court on Saturday.
