Muite says Government agencies disobeyed a Court orderGovernment agencies yesterday disobeyed a court order, a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta said obeying the rule of law is a “critical requirement of the constitution.” The government’s multi-agency team involved in the case of fertiliser suspected to be laced with mercury did not avail its officers for the taking of fresh samples of the product as directed by the court. Officials from Kenya Bureau of Standards (Kebs), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Office Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) and Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) did not avail themselves for the exercise.
