The union’s National Executive Council (NEC) resolved that Omuchenyi would act until June next year when a special delegates conference will elect the new chair. The council also ratified the nomination of Knut Secretary General Wilson Sossion to Parliament and proposed to amend the union’s constitution to solve the legal issues that have emerged. Addressing the press in Mombasa yesterday, Mr Sossion said the planned by-election scheduled for December to replace the retiring officials had been postponed to June next year. Nzili said he was not opposed to his retirement but plans to replace him on December 14 during the annual delegates conference (ADC) to be held in Mombasa.
