Zipo.co.ke has learnt that plan is already on for the said purpose even as President Uhuru Kenyatta fights for his October 26 victory at Supreme Court where two petitions have been lodged against him. Zipo.co.ke has established that secret meetings have been happening to ensure Uhuru alone does not influence selection of Ruto’s running mate in 2022. In a recent meeting, it is said a vocal Nyeri county MP suggested that Jubilee amends the law to require an election to pick the running mate. The Mt Kenya business elite and politicians are said to be jittery over indications Uhuru will continue to be active in Jubilee politics during his second term and even afterward. They are also concerned that Ruto could be looking outside Mt Kenya for his running mate, something sources within the presidency say the President supports.
