Movie Review: The DaughterRoadshow Films The Daughter opens in New Zealand cinemas on October 13. Writer/director Simon Stone is a highly regarded theatre director. Supplied Miranda Otto and Geoffrey Rush star in The Daughter, a smart film done very well. But it was Ewen Leslie (Dead Europe) as Oliver and Odessa Young as Oliver and Charlotte's daughter who stole the film for me. The Daughter is a smart film done very well indeed.
