State House has dispelled fears that movement within Nairobi county has been prohibited. Earlier President Uhuru Kenyatta had declared a cessation of movement within Nairobi, Mombasa, Kwale and Kilifi counties. "Any person, passenger-carrying bicycles, motorcycles, scooters, automobiles, vehicles, vessels, railway wagons or air crafts shall not be allowed in and out of the Nairobi Metropolitan Area and the counties of Kilifi, Kwale and Mombasa," he said. But Nzioka later clarified saying movement within Nairobi would proceed. "For the avoidance of doubt, movement within the Nairobi Metropolitan Area as defined in the Gazette Notice is permitted subject to the existing curfew and regulations on masks, hygiene and social distancing," Waita said.
