Thousands of Auckland commuters still face a painful crawl home this evening after concerns for the woman's welfare sparked the closure of the Southern Motorway. The Southern Motorway is slow between Highbrook and Khyber Pass heading towards the city, and between Highbrook and Takanini southbound. Earlier police had been negotiating with the woman on a bridge on Grafton Rd, above three Southern Motorway lanes. Motorists are being advised to avoid the Southern Motorway or delay their journeys. She said the Southern Motorway heading north was blocked all the way back to Mt Wellington.
