Motorsport: Malaysian GP: Fans throng Sepang Circuit for last qualifying session


SEPANG: Motorsports fans turned up in droves to catch the final qualifying session of the Formula 1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix on Saturday. Sepang International Circuit CEO Datuk Razlan Razali said some 27,000 spectators, the highest number recorded on a Saturday during race weekend, had attended the event. "On Friday alone, at least 16,000 fans came to the track, which was also the highest number for any free practice session. "So far, we have sold 70,280 tickets for the race," he told reporters at the circuit on Saturday. "Tickets for the main grandstand were sold out on Friday.
