SportJacques Gunawardena, brand ambassador for KTM- Sri Lanka, is leading the ‘Motocross Championship 2019’ and poised to be crowned national champ following the final race at Gunners Super Cross in Minneriya on Sunday (6). In April, he claimed the overall championship at NEM Motocross in Nuwara Eliya, but a fall in race two meant Jacques had to settle for third place at Fox Hill held in April. However, this made no difference to the championship as Jacques is already leading the point table for Motocross National Championship 2019. KTM, Europe’s largest motorcycle manufacturer, dominates the off-road segment the world over, and has won every edition of the Dakar Rally since 2009, adding 270 plus world championship titles to their credit. KTM was introduced to Sri Lanka last year by David Pieris Motor Company and six KTM models including Duke 125, Duke 200, RC 200, Duke 250, Duke 390 and RC 390 are now available locally.
