JOHOR BARU: An elderly couple was killed after the motorcycle they were riding was knocked down by a car, driven by a man allegedly high on drugs, in Batu Pahat near here Monday. Wahadi Jamos, 62, and his wife Rokiah Jangi, 65, died on the spot at KM5 Jalan Bukit Pasir in the 7.15am accident, said Batu Pahat Police chief ACP Abdul Wahib Wahib Musa in a statement. ACP Abdul Wahib said that the couple were riding from Tongkang Pechah to Batu Pahat. However, the driver ran away upon arrival at the hospital, and left the passenger to be given outpatient treatment, said Abdul Wahib. Abdul Wahib has asked the driver to surrender and assist the police investigation into the accident.
