One person has died and another is seriously injured following a crash in Governors Bay, southwest of Lyttleton. A police spokesperson said the crash between a car and a motorcycle in Governors Bay Teddington Rd was reported about 3:55pm on Saturday. The driver of the car was seriously injured in the crash and was flown by helicopter to Christchurch Hospital. The road was closed while the Serious Crash Unit carried out a scene examination. An investigation into the circumstances of the crash was under way.
